I made this card for my mom's birthday this year. I could not resist using this image for her card as she drives a convertible car as well. The paper I used is so fun. I love the colors of the "flirty" paperpack in the Close To My Heart autumn/winter idea book 2012. I also used our new alcohol markers to color the crystal gems which were clear originally. The stamped image is from Loralie Designs.

Enjoy and thanks for looking!

My Creation Canvas Journal Blog Hop

Welcome to to our October

Cross Canada Blog Hop!

In this hop, you will see how our Crafty Canadian Consultants have decorated their Canvas Journals! We hope you enjoy our blog hop today!

This month our project is the My Creations Canvas Journal. This product can be found on page 132 of the Current Idea Book, purchased exclusively through a Close to My Heart Independent Consultant for only $8.95.
You can purchase your journal on my website here.

If you came from "Jackie's blog" then you are in the right place!

For my Canvas Journal, I wanted to make it "shabby chic" looking. I used the scholastic papers, cut the butterflies with the new artiste cricut cartridge, and the flourish, roses and nestled shapes are cut with the Art Philosophy cricut collection. I made the brown flower with the seam binding ribbon that I dyed with chocolate reinker. I embelished with our mocha gems.

If you click on the picture, you can see it enlarged.

Thanks for looking and visiting my blog today!

Re-configured Cubby Box video tutorial

I am so excited to share with you my re-configured cubby from Close To My Heart. The cubby is originally intended as a box that you can create drawers using the CTMH Artiste cricut collection to convert into an advent calendar. I wanted to try something different and re-configure some of the spaces into larger openings.

The first cubby, I made using the "scholastic" collection from the Fall/Winter 2012 Idea book & catalogue. I decided to display my son's school pictures from preschool to grade 6 to show how much he has changed through the years.

The second cubby features the "Flirty" collection and I made it for the Close To My Heart's silent auction at the Edmonton regionals.

I hope you enjoy my video tutorial and I would love to encourage you to make one of your own!

Enjoy and thanks for looking!

Here is the video tutorial so you can make your own!

Avonlea Birthday card with hidden sentiment

I was having fun playing with some of the new products from the Autumn/Winter Close To My Heart products. The paperpack I used is called "Avonlea" which has the most gorgeous teal color that is exclusive to this paperpack only. I also used the coordinating avonlea canvas stickers, pearl opaque flourishes, slate satin polkadot ribbon, colonial white rosette ribbon, chocolate waxy flax, and baubles (these are left over from the avonlea card workshop on the go).

Enjoy and thanks for looking!
